Bonnie J. Borschowa-Hickerson is a native of Oregon's central Willamette Valley, and spent most of her youth on her family's small farm near Woodburn.
After earning a Master's Degree in education, Bonnie was a teacher for 20 years. She had the pleasure of teaching art to elementary students for one of her teaching years, which seeded her interest in developing her own artwork. With her three children grown, and having retired from teaching, she has been focusing energy toward time in her Amity home studio.
Arts and crafts have a long tradition in Bonnie's family, and she has been involved in a variety of these endeavors, from designing and making wedding dresses, dollhouse building, wool felting, batik, and quilting, to her more recent work in colored pencils, ink, soft pastels, and most recently acrylic.
