Jeanne is a member of On-line Plein Air Artists, the Westside Art Guild, the Paint Out Group, the Village Gallery of Arts, and the Yamhill County Art Alliance. Her work is in the Ryan Gallery and has been shown in many exhibits in the Pacific Northwest. For 17 years she has participated in the Art Harvest Studio Tour. In the summer her friends and collectors find her painting in the lavender fields, in farmers markets, fields of crimson or wheat that is ready to harvest.
She combines a quiet realism with an impressionist view in her landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Painting primarily in oil, she also enjoys new mediums in an attempt to obtain a more free expression. As an Oregonian each season brings enthusiasm for the change in color, atmosphere and mood.
"Catching the moment the sun highlights a mountain top or seeing the flowers glow as the sun light changes just before sunset, creates an excitement that doesn't diminish. This drives me to put on canvas the wonders that daily surround us, in our beautiful Oregon and when traveling.
Art is best when we create from things we love. I am energized when standing at the edge of a crimson clover field putting paint on my canvas. The light and shadows quickly change so the challenge is to make the scene `seem to stand still'"
